An EMS company turned to EPG to deliver significant savings for PCB boards. With our help, new supplier matrix in China enabled the company to meet its goals.
APPROACH (at a glance)
EPG first defined the client’s starting point and reviewed how they sourced and purchased PCB boards. EPG prioritized the sourcing potential of individual processes and managed implementation activities:
1. Vendor identification and selection:
• Launch request for information (RFI) and thorough RFP process
• Select potential suppliers
2. Deal and contract negotiation:
• Carry out due diligence
• Normalize bids and ensure price flexibility
3. Management:
• Developed a list of prioritized savings opportunities by reconstructing the company's spending
• Diagnosed current capabilities through benchmarks developed versus other EPG clients
RESULT
Within one year EPG’s procurement outsourcing operation contributed to the company’s cost savings of more than $2.4M based on their $7.5M purchasing volume from China. A new 2022-2024 procurement strategy with our client is already in operation.
